Embedded advertising has been used in movies, TV, print and even online for some time now. Typically product placement is reserved for products that have a visible logo or where a spokesperson will mention the sponsoring brand. For products that don’t have an obvious brand like furniture, décor, flooring and fashion plumbing this effective method of influence has been out of reach…until now! Two weeks ago Edgenet launched the Design Center at MSN Real Estate. This entirely new section delivers two important things for advertisers, 1) the ability to put their products in front of targeted online buyers and 2) can build brand influence through inspirational settings tied to ecommerce sites where consumers can find and purchase the products they are searching for.

Taking that to the next point, retailers and merchants will be able to preview and review apparel and their variations through the Merchant Portal.

We have a new feature release in early February, which will allow the Sporting Goods Industry to easily manage product attribute variations. This feature release allows suppliers to manage products with similar attributes within a single item. Let me explain. It's quite common for vendors to offer products in multiple colors and/or sizes. With the new attribute variation capability, suppliers can enter the product information one time, and simply add the variations, such as Medium, Large, and XL.

AAIA Catalog Enhanced Standard (ACES) standards data is essential for the automotive aftermarket industry. Combining ACES data with rich product content is incredibly beneficial to both store associates and customers. Having more detailed and accurate information will enable store associates to sell more products. We're excited to be the industry's first to offer a way for automotive aftermarket suppliers to manage their ACES data and rich product content in a single online location. Auto part suppliers who already have their data in the ACES format can simply upload their data to the Supplier Portal, avoiding rework and benefiting from a single source data management. Suppliers can also add or edit ACES data directly through the Supplier Portal.

On December 9, we are releasing a new version of the Supplier Portal to allow GDSN pre-publication. There are several benefits related to this functionality:
- This is a simple way to meet the pre-publication requirements of your retailers' GDSN process
- It enables you to define up front who gets your data. This way you don't have to check the Supplier Portal for subscription requests. We will automatically send your pre-published catalog items to the appropriate recipient
- Pre-publication cuts a step out of the process. Now you can do all your GDSN work for a given item in one sitting
